About This Project

SEASIDE COTTAGE THEATER is community-based theatre for community development and promotion/preservation of African Art and culture. It was pre-commissioned on April 27, 2018 by Africa’s first Nobel Laureate and Emeritus Professor of Comparative literature- Professor Wole Soyinka in a celebration that drew attendance from all walks of life. Since its commissioning, it has continually drawn both local and foreign media’s attention owing to the fact that it is such of its kind and of its advocacy for the rural and slum dwellers. A grass root theatre for development platform.

It holds a quarterly live theatre platform where children from public and private schools around Bariga community get to experience live  Theatre products, there literature text is usually the focus while we brewed them to develop the live theatre culture for community development and academics excellence , also a convergence for all to have fun, recreate the setting of a village square.
