About This Project

BRIGHT ACHIEVERS’ SCHOOLS registered as FODAF International Academy is the FREE SLUM SCHOOL (educational scheme) situated at the Bariga slum site by the Lagoon front at Isale  Akoka Bariga. This free school program avails children from low-income homes and slum dwellers the opportunity to have qualitative education at no cost. We believe in the value of Education and this should not be an ostentatious object irrespective of one’s socio-economic class. From time to time, Footprints of David Art foundation employs qualifield teachers and volunteers  to tutor and mentor this  young scholars on various subjects and life lessons. the response has been encouraging since its inception and we also introduce a book club.

I-READ Community Book Club

I-Read community Book club was founded in September 2018 as one of the offshoot projects of the prestigious MY BARIGA MY PRIDE (a community focused) initiative. Since its inception, MY BARIGA MY PRIDE has challenged the body polity by the monthly reading sessions which largely helped to ebb the menace of ignorance and consequentially growing mental development. i-Read Community Book club seeks to redress the lackluster attitude towards reading of books and other useful materials needed by the children in the community. The children and teenager segment of the book club with a growing number of over 80 students has been met with amazing results going by the feedbacks from their teachers and parents. The book club helps to assert the known fact that ‘Readers are Leaders’.
