Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode

Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode was a Governor in Lagos State. Born 14th June, 1963 in Epe area of Lagos state, he had his primary education at St. Jude’s Primary School, Ebute Meta, and Lagos from 1969-1974 subsequently proceeding to Federal Government College, Warri, Delta State. From 1981-1984, he attended University of Lagos where he studied Accounting, graduating at the age of 21 and a master’s degree in Accounting from the same institution. He is a Chartered Accountant.

 

He is a recipient of the Fulbright Program scholarship for the Hubert Humphries Fellowship Programme in Boston, Massachusetts. He is an alumni of Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania for Advanced Management Programme, Cranfield School of Management, Cranfield, England, the Institute of Management Development, Lausanne, Switzerland, INSEAD, Singapore and John F. Kennedy School of Government in Harvard, Boston, US.

 

Prior to his election as the first man of the former FCT, he was in the employment of the Lagos state civil service for an uptrend of 27 years. Between the periods 1988-91, he was the Assistant Treasurer at Badagry Local Government; auditor at Somolu Local Government in 1991 and later was appointed the position of Council Treasurer in Somolu Local Government.

 

In the course of his meritorious service, the Epe-born administrator and financial guru served as the Council Treasurer at Alimosho Local Government. In 2001, he became acting Auditor General for Local Government, Lagos State, Nigeria, a position he held until he was appointed In permanent secretary of the Ministry of Finance in 2005.

 

From 2006- 2012, he was the accountant general for Lagos State and the genius of excellent financial expertise was deployed towards revitalizing the state’s treasury with an improved budget performance at an average of 85% annually.

 

He retired voluntarily in 2012 to establish Brandsmiths Consulting Limited, a privately-owned Public Finance and Management Consulting that provides financial services to government at all levels, its parastatals and agencies.

 

He is married to Bolanle Patience (née Odukomaiya) and the union is blessed with three children.

OONI ADEYEYE ENITAN OGUNWUSI

His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II) is the Ooni of Ile-Ife succeeding HRM Alayeluwa Oba Okunade Sijuwade (Olubushe II). Born 17 October 1974, the paramount monarch of the Yoruba race is from the family of Oluropo and Wuraola Ogunwusi of the Giesi Royal House, Agbedegbede Compound in the city of Ile-Ife.

 

He attended Subuola Memorial Nursery and Primary School, Ibadan and laterIbadan District Council, Akobo, Ibadan and later proceeded to the prestigious Loyola College, Ibadan. He also attended St. Peters Secondary School, Ile-Ife, where he bagged his secondary school leaving certificate. He is a graduate of accountancy from The Polytechnic, Ibadan.  A certified member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN);   an Associate Accounting Technician; a certified member of the Institute of Directors and a member of the Global Real Estate Institute. He holds a number of honorary doctorate degrees both in Public Administration from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and in Law from Igbinedion University.

 

The Oba is the Chancellor at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

 

In a bid to unite the Yoruba nation, the Ooni shortly after his enthronement has successfully made moves by visiting the Alaafin of Oyo in breaking the jinx of leadership tussle that had existed between the Ife and Oyo Kingdoms. His contribution to the national discourse, cultural rejuvenation and artistic development is of great note.

 

As an humanist, the Arole of Oodua through the pilot projects: House of Oduduwa Foundation and Hopes Alive Initiative provided grants for the socio-economic emancipation of the less privileged, young people and women.

 

He is blessed with a daughter named is Princess Adeola Aanuolouwapo Ogunwusi.
